David Yellowhorse Custom Knife Silversmith
Meeting David Yellowhorse
From May 29–31, we had the pleasure of setting up at the Spirit of Steel Knife Show in Knoxville, Tennessee. The event was a tremendous success, featuring numerous vendors, incredible knife displays, and enthusiasts from across the country.
This year, the Buck Collectors Club also held its Annual 2026 Meeting during the show. A special area was designated for club members to display their Buck knife collections, creating an impressive showcase of craftsmanship and history.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the appearance of special guest David Yellowhorse and his wife, Yasbah. David attended the show to support fellow Buck Collectors Club members and spent time meeting attendees, taking photographs, and sharing stories from his life and career. Despite his remarkable accomplishments, David's humility and genuine appreciation for fellow collectors made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
David resides in Lupton, Arizona, on the border of Arizona and New Mexico within the Navajo Nation. The Yellowhorse family continues to operate their Navajo-owned trading post, a well-known stop for travelers exploring the Southwest. As a young boy, David offered donkey rides to visiting children before eventually selling Native American jewelry. His passion for silversmithing, sand casting, and entrepreneurship led him to become a highly respected fourth-generation Native American silversmith.
Today, David is internationally recognized for creating handcrafted works of art in both the jewelry and knife industries. His custom knives are highly sought after by collectors, and many examples of his work were proudly displayed throughout the show by Buck knife enthusiasts.
The accompanying photographs feature displays handcrafted by Edwin Cooper, showcasing his personal collection of David Yellowhorse knives. Edwin and his wife, Kathy, have assembled a remarkable collection that reflects both their dedication as collectors and their appreciation for David's artistry.

My husband Randy, our daughter-in-law Jamey, our grandson Rowan, and I were honored to spend time with David and have our photograph taken with him. He especially enjoyed seeing the entrepreneurial spirit of our grandchildren, ages 10, 8, and 6, as they enthusiastically bought, sold, and traded knives throughout the show. Rowan was especially proud to meet David and is pictured holding the knife David carries himself.

I saw a Gerber Touche belt buckle knife that was done by Mr Yellowhorse and it was amazing I wish he was doing anything more that would be available
