Sterling Silver

Sterling silver is the purest form of silver used for making jewelry.  Silver is very soft and needs to be mixed with other metals to make it more durable for wear.  Sterling silver is 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent of other metals.

In the United States jewelry can not be marked or described as silver unless it is made up of 92.5 percent pure silver.  Once graded, it will be marked with any of the following symbols to indicate it's value:  .925, 925, 92.5, SS, Sterling or Ster.

We test all our jewelry for authenticity by using an acid test.  For CLEANING AND CARE, please see our tab on the bottom of the page marked Jewelry Care.
