This brooch is made with a handmade "C" clasp that dates this brooch between 1850-1910.  So simple and beautiful in design.  Elegantly gold tone base that a stamped and etched print.  A dark orange amber tone gemstone attached.  I have tested this piece and it does not test gold, but it looks to be very heavy rolled gold plated.  The gemstone I tested with a presidium gem tester, and it does test as a gemstone in the quartz range, but I do not know the exact type of gem.
In very good condition for its age and measures 7/8" in diameter.
