Antique round Tibetan Hindu Gau prayer box that is made of silver. They would contain small blessings or relics inside. Double sided, one side has a symbol of a double Dorje or Vishva vajra (are two Dorjes connected to form a cross), which represents foundation of the physical world and offers great protection and positive vibrations. The other side contains a Kalachakra mantra symbol of Buddhism, which represents cycles of time; internal, external and alternative.
The prayer box opens by unscrewing the pin at the bottom. The screw pin has a clockwise swastika is a solar symbol (Surya), suggesting the motion of the Sun in India (the northern hemisphere).
