Dorothy Bauer's artistic journey began in her jeweler father's California store, where she cultivated a refined eye for beauty. After studying art formally, she founded "A Piece of the Rainbow" in 1981, initially crafting hand-blown glass pieces in Berkeley. In 1982, she established Dorothy Bauer Designs with her husband Robert, shifting focus to sculptural jewelry. Together, they became known for their exquisite creations featuring premium Austrian crystals and faceted rhinestones, blending artistic vision with masterful craftsmanship.
